At Mawnan CE VA Primary School, we are committed to providing our families with flexible and affordable wraparound childcare that aligns with our school's vision and values. As a small, successful, and ambitious primary school we strive to offer an enriching and nurturing environment for all our children.
This childcare provision is an extension of Mawnan School and therefore operates in line with the school’s values, policies and high expectations of pupil behaviour.
Our wraparound childcare, operating Monday to Friday from 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm during term time (excluding INSET days), offers a maximum of 30 places per day. This provision is based on our school site, allowing us to make use of our wonderful facilities and grounds to provide a variety of relaxing and engaging activities for the children.
We are excited to offer this flexible childcare alongside our existing extra-curricular activities, providing added convenience and peace of mind for our families. Our sessions have three timing options, with the option to book individual sessions or block bookings. We are committed to ensuring our wraparound care is both affordable and financially viable, and we will be regularly reviewing the timings and pricing to best meet the needs of our community.
Our session times and fees will be as follows:
Session 1 | 3:15pm – 4:15pm | £5 |
Session 2 | 4:15pm – 5:30pm | £5 |
Session 3 | 5:30pm-6:00pm | £5 |
To secure a place in our wraparound childcare, parents and carers will need to:

Snacks
Ensuring our children are well-fed and energised is a key priority. During the wrap-around care, we provide a selection of healthy snacks at 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm (for those joining after enrichment clubs). This allows our children to refuel and recharge, so they can continue to enjoy thier time at wraparound.
The safety and well-being of our children are of the utmost importance. When collecting your child from our wraparound care, please use the main reception, and a member of the wraparound team will bring your child out to you. All parents and authorised adults will be required to sign out their child on the collection register before leaving the building.
The collection times are 4:15pm, 5:30pm or 6pm. Your child will then be brought out to you, please wait outside the reception area for your child unless invited in by a member of staff.
To ensure the safeguarding of our children, we reserve the right to refuse release to anyone not on the collection permission form, unless we have received prior email or verbal permission. We also expect all children to be collected promptly, with late pickups incurring additional charges.
Parents are expected to pick up on time. If a child is picked up late, ie: after 4.35pm or after 5.35pm the parent will be charged the full amount for the next session. The last pick-up and hand over times for after-school care is 6pm.
Please note that if a child is picked up after 6pm, there will be a £30 late fee charge applied to cover the cost of staffing.

Cookies set by the website owner or service provider (in this case, eSchools) are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website or service you are using (such as advertising, interactive content and analytics). The third parties that set these third party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website or service in question and also when it visits certain other websites or services.

Other cookies enable us and the third parties we work with to track and target the interests of visitors to our Services, and we refer to these as “advertising” or “analytical” cookies. For example, the embedding of YouTube and Vimeo videos, as added by individual schools, will require “advertising” cookies to be enabled in order to successfully play them. Schools that, for example, opt to track visitor data using Google Analytics will require “analytical” cookies to be enabled in order to do so. We also enable schools to employ cookies and similar tracking technologies in connection with their use of our Services in order to allow them to track visitors to and interactions with their school website.
